Font Licensing
Many of you will have seen trade advertisements
about software licensing or you may have received a letter from the
British Software Alliance. Some of you may have already had a visit
from the Federation Against Software Theft (FAST) or Trading Standards
Officers.
It's very important to remember that fonts are
software too and are subject to strict licensing regulation. But don't
panic. If you have any doubts at all whether you are properly licensed
for all the fonts you have on your system then just ask for advice.

everyone involved in the creation of font software is properly
rewarded, including the typeface designer, then future font software
development could be severely impaired, limiting the choice to you as a
designer.
